About Taste of Ethiopia I
Taste of Ethiopia I brings the vibrant heart of Ethiopian cuisine to Pflugerville's Grand Avenue Parkway. Chef Woinee crafts every dish with love, inspired by the comforting meals your grandmother might serve, but with a vibrant Ethiopian twist. The kitchen challenges you to find a single unnatural ingredient in any plate. Diners experience the full ceremony: colorful plates of beef tibs, rich lentils, cabbage, and collard greens served atop soft, fresh injera bread-the perfect vessel for every delicious bite. The weekday vegetarian buffet offers a meat-free sanctuary with hearty lentil stews, spiced cabbage, and collard greens, all completely vegan. The traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony honors buna's roots: fresh beans roasted in a pan over a flame, ground, and brewed in a traditional clay pot called a jebena, served alongside burning frankincense. Reservations, dine-in, and online ordering for pickup or delivery are all available. The restaurant is closed Tuesdays but open Monday and Sunday noon to 9 p.m., and Wednesday through Saturday noon to 9 p.m.

What is injera?
Injera is a traditional Ethiopian flatbread with a unique, slightly spongy texture and a deliciously tangy flavor. It is traditionally used as both the plate and the utensil to scoop up the delicious wots and tibbs. At Taste of Ethiopia I, the injera is made fresh in-house.
What is the Ethiopian coffee ceremony?
The ceremony of Buna (Ethiopian coffee) was discovered in Ethiopia. At Taste of Ethiopia I, we honor its roots with a traditional coffee ceremony.
